Continuous Glucose Monitor

BACKGROUND // For Type I diabetes, monitoring your glucose levels is a essential part of keeping your disease in check. Especially with children, having real time monitoring of your blood sugar can make management much more reasonable and accurate than constantly pricking your finger to get readings. Part of our client’s system involves firing a thin sensor through an elastomeric seal and positioning it axially with high accuracy. As one can imagine, the combination of size, speed and non-linear material creates quite a challenging problem.

OUTCOME // This product came to market and is currently helping make the process of monitoring blood glucose easier for countless people across the country.

The design of the G6 has also earned the 2019 Silver Medical Design Excellence Award in the Testing and Diagnostics category, the 2019 Core 77 Design Award in the Health and Wellness category, a 2019 Silver IDEA award from IDSA in the Medical & Health category, and a 2019 Good Design Award in the Medical category.
